BC Parks
BC Parks and Columbia Shuswap Invasive Species Society have been working together for the last two years on invasive plant management in four parks in the North Columbia. The work has included invasive plant inventories, community weed pulls, boat launch and trailhead signage/outreach, Early Detection and Rapid Response for new high priority plants, as well as invasive plant treatments and monitoring. In addition, they will speak about how to work with new construction/development projects in BC Parks to implement best management practices for the prevention and management of new invaders. The presentation will cover some of their successes and recommendations for working together on invasive species management in BC Parks.
