BC Parks
Planning for our Province's parks and conservation areas is continuing to evolve with new challenges including climate variability and change, increased access to backcountry parks and associated activities, changes in local ecology and biodiversity, and many different operational pressures. This poster will look at specific challenges related to planning for parks while looking into the future. We will use the Tatshenshini-Alsek Park, UNESCO World Heritage site, as an example to demonstrate the many variables that need to be taken into consideration when developing management and conservation plans that will be relevant and applicable for years to come.
